X-mas preparation has started.

I´ve started working on some x-mas presents for this year. I think I will be able to make something for everyone this year. I have some great ideas that I can´t post here because some of these people read my blog so I guess I will not be posting pics of these projects till after x-mas but I am very busy knitting.
DS isn´t feeling his best. He is not really sick but he has a sinus infection from being sick last time. We are going in for his 18 month check up so the Dr. will be able to tell us if we will be needing some antibiotics. I hope we can skip the antibiotics because he is still recovering from having the runs as well. My poor little man has been sick with everything but the flu and H1N1 which I am very glad for. We are planing not to get the vaccinations for them this year. I do not trust it for me, being pregnant and all, or Odinn because he is still so little.
Grad school has been good. I´m a little behind on a few projects but my family therapy teacher just gave us an incentive to finish early by giving us 5 extra credit points if we are the first to finish all 10 assignments early. I´ve done 3 of the reaction papers and I still have 7 to go. So I have to read 7 chapters and do a reaction paper over each one. Hopefully I can finish by next week and get the extra 5 credit points and not have to worry about doing them for the rest of the semester. A few papers are do soon but they are not too bad. I also have to lead a group in group therapy class and I can´t make up my mind on if I want to lead a group on stress eating or just anxiety. I´m thinking that my fellow college students will be able to identify better with just anxiety. What do you guys think?
Assessment has been interesting the last few times since we are actually working on the MMPI-2 and we get to analyze ourselves. Makes it interesting. I keep getting some depression characteristics because they are the same as pregnancy symptoms which just shows how important it is to do an actual interview with the client to know if there are any medical reasons for a person to get a wrong psychological diagnosis.

Midterms are Over, Car Shopping in Full Swing and Our Frig is Finaly Full.

So I've been in the middle of midterms and haven't had the strength, or the will to go to the grocery store to do some proper shopping for this household. We were down to eating out 2 out of 3 meals and it was getting very old. We were running out of places to take out from because we were not going to go out to eat with a 18 month old in tow. So today when my last midterm was over I went straight to the grocery store and stocked up on $238 worth of groceries. Yes you read it right I wrote $238 for 2 grown ups and a toddler. I bought a lot of frozen meals that we could just drop in the pan or in a casserole and bake. My theme was anything easy and good breakfasts for the weekend. I was out of everything from milk and eggs to my favorite tea that just makes me happy when I drink it. I was also a little hungry when I went so I might have thrown in a few extras like small chocolate covered doughnuts. They will be nice later with a glass of milk while watching my shows.

Anyway, we started our car search yesterday and me and DH have different ideas of what we are looking for. I just want the Mazda 5 because it will fit our family even if we have 2 more kids and it is not a mini van. He liked the Mazda 3 because it was smaller and sportier. The only difference in MPG was about 4 gallons. It is a bit odd to be searching for a car that is only 2-4 years old. I've only bought 2 cars in my life and they were both older and CHEAP just to get me from point A to point B and now we are looking for a good and safe care for our family.

Oh I also finished the beret that I was knitting last night. I need to get a good pic of it to post. I've now started on some cool fingerless gloves from the same vogue magazine. I'm having fun with all the small projects and using what I already have in my yarn stash to make them. I need to figure out some cool project to use all of my worsted weight cotton yarn for. I have LOTS of it. It's not really good for clothing. Maybe I will make a children's blanket out of it or something. If you guys have any ideas I would love to hear them.

My car is dieing and other projects.

SO my car has been dieing for the last 2 or 3 years but my husband and father in law have been keeping it alive some how. For the last 2 or 3 summers I have not been able to drive the car in temps over 90 on the highway with out it over heating and me having to pull over and wait 10 min in the heat for it to start up again. I also have to drive under 55 miles per hour because if I don´t it over heats which is really fun when the speed limit is 65 or 70. People are really pleased with you. It was normal for me to have to stop like that about 2 times on my way to school and by the way I could not use the air conditioning if temps were over 90 either. Oh and if it´s over 90 degrees out I also can not let my car idle at Sonic or at the drive through because then it would over heat as well. This was especially pleasant when I was in my first trimester and felt like I was going to toss my cookies.
Well, with this bellydweller on the way and the last mishap with my car (the windows were left open over night wile there was a massive thunderstorm and it got soaked and it kept raining for weeks so the car never really dried out which means.... drum role please..... MOLD!!! to the point where my eyes would tear up when I got in to it). Seeing that my car is now a bio-hazard I will not put my children in it. So now we are looking for a new car. I want a Mazda 5 that is about 2-4 years old but for some reason it can´t be found for sale. I guess it´s a good car that people are holding on to. I can only find them for sale at dealers and they are only a year old which means they are still a bit too pricey. I also wouldn´t mind a nice station wagon that is about 2 years old. I want decent MPGs. No guzzler for the tree hugging hippie. Finding a new, used care, is hard.

Anyways I have been doing a lot of knitting whild DS was sick and all we did was watch cartoons because he just didn´t feel like doing anything and I finished a nice Cowl from the new holiday 2009 vogue knitting magazine. I finished it in one day. I´m also knitting a beret from it. I don´t know if I like it. I used a varigated yarn and it makes it hard to see the detail in the lace work in it. I might just frog it and buy a sock yarn that is a single color and knit it over again. Or finish it and use it. I don´t know yet.
The shawl that I started on is coming along. I just have to put it down and work on other things since I´m making it with a lace weight yarn and it is taking forever so I get bored.
My fall garden is coming right a long. DS helped me get the seeds in so there are seedlings coming up here and there. I´ll include a pic.

Interesting past week.

Mom and dad were here and it was great. Mom was like an angel that cooked and cleaned and dad did some of the honey do´s that DH hasn´t had time to do and his fear of heights were getting in the way of him doing.
Me and DH also got a night out which was like a god send. We went to dinner and I ate and he drank since he had already eaten at work. We talked and then went to Barns and Noble for a while for a drink and desert while looking at books and magazines while discussing dreams of projects and trips that we want to take.
We then went to go see Surrogates at the AMC. Interesting movie. Interesting concept. Horrible seats for a prego girl.
It was amazing getting to go out in the evening and do adult things with out having a toddler to chase all over the place. Don´t get me wrong, I love my son more than anything in this world but getting to go out and just be the two of us was just so amazing and I am so thankful to have parents that come all the way from Iceland and let us do this together while they get to spend time with their grandson. We never have to ask. They always ask us if we wouldn´t like a night out.
The day after that DS starts getting sick and then just spikes a fever for 3 days straight. We took him to the Dr. and they said that it was not the flu and that it was just a virus. He doesn´t have a fever now he just has a runny nose but he was pretty miserable there for a while because his nose was so stuffed up that he just could not breath very well which meant that he wasn´t sleeping very well. I´m usually pretty good at getting up at any time with DS when he gets up at night but after 4 nights of getting up several times a night, last night I had to use every last strength I had to get up to him last night. I haven´t felt that tired in a really long time.
I had my ultrasound to make sure that everything was were it should be after the 20 week ultrasound tech having some concerns about the placenta´s height and shape. This time she said that everything is great and I am A OK to go to Iceland to have this little bellydweller.
People are already commenting on how huge I am. It´s nice to know that I´m bigger than I ''should'' be. Always makes you feel better.
